A Majorcan Idyll

A Majorcan Idyll

Gran Hotel Son Net

In 1988 Gran Hotel Son Net was one of the first luxury hotels on the island. In 1998 Architectural Digest featured the hotel in an issue and called it "A Majorcan Idyll" and today the hotel maintains its reputation as a leader of luxury on the island.

History and Tradition Meet Luxury

History and Tradition Meet Luxury

The hotel has 31 rooms and suites, each named after an important figure in Majorcan history. All rooms feature the luxurious standards of a five-star hotel. Natural stone flagged floors and ancient beams are elegantly combined to give the hotel a truly rustic feeling. Materials for the hotel include stone, wood and tiles. The handcrafted stucco walls of the hotel and use of Tela de Lenguas fabrics retain the feel of an authentic Mallorcan villa. Art also forms a focal point of this luxury boutique hotel, as it houses a remarkable collection of original works by Christo Javacheff, Richard Serra, Marc Chagall, Frank Stella, David Hockney, and Andy Warhol, among others.

Restaurant Oleum offers a stylish and intimate environment featuring a centerpiece period olive oil press that dates back to the 17th century. The chef and his team prepare a selection of innovative dishes, applying modern techniques to locally sourced seasonal ingredients. Oleum’s exclusive wine list has a fine selection of Mallorcan, Spanish, and European wines. The Terrace serves fine cuisine while the Gazebo serves more casual fare and is set near the pool.

The hotel’s new tree house is a first for Mallorca’s hotels and is designed around an existing ancient tree on the Son Net Estate. Guests enjoy a true “bird’s eye view” of the Serra de Tramuntana Mountains and the views across the village of Puigpunyent and countryside below. For a memorable experience, this unique venue is available for private functions and meals for up to 8 and cocktails for up to 10 people.
